Hello everyone! Today I will share with you a very easy recipe to prepare SIMPLE applesauce. No sugar in this recipe.
Apples contain numerous benefits for your health; they are high in fiber, which helps during the digestive process, high also in Vitamin C, necessary for the repair of all body tissues and the formation of collagen among other benefits. It also improves intestinal health and controls diabetes, so if you like apples but want to try it in a different way, try preparing apple sauce, without doubt a great option as a dessert or topping for other plates!
Moreover, it is incredibly easy to prepare. Check out the recipe and some serving ideas that I personally love!
7-10 apples (depends on the size)
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinammon
1 cup of water
*Note that you can add sugar (1/2 cup), salt (1/2 cup) and some people like it with lemon peel or lemon juice. I keep it simple as you can see.
1) Cut the apples in square pieces and boil them in a cooking pot along with the cinnamon ( salt, sugar and lemon if you are using as well)
2) Bring to a boil in high heat, then turn down the temperature and cover the pot, keeping it at low simmer for about 15-20min.
3) Once they are soft and tender, mash them and let cool down.
You can have it on its own or mix it with other dishes. Here I leave you two of my favorite!
With Greek yogurt and wallnuts
This is a great option
as a mid evening snack, will keep you satiated until dinner!
